- What question types can it create?
- Six: single choice (A, B, C, D), multiple answer, true or false, fill in the blank, matching and open ended. Every question comes with the correct answer marked and a short explanation. Fill in the blank, matching and open-ended questions are part of Plus and up.
- What files can I upload?
- 16 formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, ODT, ODP, RTF, TXT, JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, BMP, TIF and TIFF. You can upload up to 10 files at once, 50 MB each. Scanned pages and photos are read with OCR.
- What do I get out of it?
- An online quiz you can take yourself or share by link, and a flashcard set built from the same questions. Depending on the plan you can also download the quiz as a PDF with the answer key or export it to Anki.
- Is there a plan for schools and companies?
- Yes, the Team plan. Every member gets all Elite features, the whole team shares one monthly limit, and you organize people into groups, for example classes or departments. It costs $15 per seat per month, from 5 seats, and you buy it on the pricing page without a quote.
- Which languages does it support?
- The quiz is written in the language of your document. On paid plans you can pick a different output language from a list of more than 180. The site itself is available in 28 languages, including Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Turkish and Arabic.
- How does the flashcard maker work?
- Upload a PDF, a Word file, slides, notes or a photo of a page. The AI reads the document and writes questions from it, and each question becomes a card: the question on the front, the answer and a short explanation on the back. You open the set in the flashcard view, flip through the cards and mark each one as known or as needing review.
- Can I make flashcards from a PDF without an account?
- The generator on this page builds a set of 5 questions from up to 5 pages of any document without an account. To open the set as flashcards, keep it and come back to it later, you need a free account.
- Is the flashcard maker free?
- The first set is free and needs no account. On a free account you can open every set you make as flashcards and study the first three cards of each one; the full set and the Anki export are part of the paid plans, which start at $9 a month, or $54 for 12 months.
- What is on the back of each card?
- The correct answer and a short explanation of why it is correct, written from the passage in your document the question came from. For open-ended questions the model answer itself is on the back.
- Can I export the flashcards to Anki?
- Yes. Paid plans can export any set as a tab separated file that Anki imports as a deck, with the question as the front and the answer and explanation as the back. Spaced repetition then runs in Anki. The Anki flashcard generator page explains the import step by step.
