Terms of Service for PDFQuiz

PDFQuiz.com is a service operated by Marketcode Sp. z o.o., a private limited company registered in Poland.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PDFQuiz ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PDFQuiz is a SaaS platform that allows users to create quizzes from PDF documents using AI. Features include quiz generation, sharing, and tracking of results. Additional features may be added or modified at any time.

3. User Responsibilities

  • You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must not misuse the Service, including attempting unauthorized access, distributing malware, or engaging in activities that harm the Service or other users.

4. Payment and Subscriptions

Access to premium features of the Service requires a subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly, semi-annually or annually) as specified during sign-up. By providing payment details, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for subscription fees.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals only. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and part-periods are never refunded or pro-rated — including where you cancel immediately after a renewal, or did not use the Service during the period. Failing to cancel before a renewal date is not a ground for a refund.

5. Refunds — All Sales Final

All payments are final and non-refundable. PDFQuiz is a digital service that is delivered and consumed immediately: each generation calls paid AI processing that we pay for on your behalf, and that cost is incurred and irreversible the moment you use it. Once the Service has been made available to your account it has been delivered in full, and the fee is earned.

By subscribing, you expressly request that we begin providing the Service immediately, and you acknowledge that you therefore lose any statutory right of cancellation or withdrawal that would otherwise apply to distance contracts for digital content and services once performance has begun.

The only exceptions are the narrow cases listed in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Requests outside those cases will be declined. Refund requests must be submitted through the form linked in that policy within 14 days of the charge; requests made by any other means, or after that window, will not be considered.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service are the property of PDFQuiz or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFQuiz and its affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions or concerns about these Terms, please contact us at [email protected].

Refund Policy for PDFQuiz

In short: payments are final, and we refund only in the specific cases listed in section 3. Before you pay anything, the free plan lets you see the whole interface and the feature toggles that a paid plan unlocks, so you know what you are buying and what a paid plan adds. You can also cancel at any time in a couple of clicks.

1. All sales are final

PDFQuiz is a digital service delivered instantly. Generating a quiz consumes AI tokens that we buy and pay for on your behalf, and once those tokens are spent that cost cannot be recovered. The subscription also covers the running costs behind the tool: hosting, maintenance, and the time our team spends on your account. Every new subscriber is assigned a support manager who looks after that account, and that work is paid for from the moment the subscription starts. In practice this happens within minutes of upgrading: people subscribe in order to generate a quiz, and they generate one straight away. By that point we have already paid for the tokens your account used, which is why the fee for a period that has started is not refundable. The product is also delivered exactly as described, and the free plan lets you view the whole interface and the feature toggles a paid plan unlocks before you pay, so nothing about what a paid plan contains should come as a surprise. If you no longer want to pay for it, you can cancel at any moment and no further payment is taken.

By subscribing you expressly ask us to start providing the Service immediately and acknowledge that you thereby lose any statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period that would otherwise apply once performance has begun.

2. What is never refunded

The following are not grounds for a refund, in whole or in part:

  • Changing your mind, or no longer needing the tool.
  • Believing the plan was a one-off payment. Every plan is a recurring subscription, and this is stated on the pricing page, in the checkout, in your confirmation email and in your account.
  • Forgetting to cancel before a renewal date, or cancelling straight after one. Cancelling takes a couple of clicks and is available at any time, so keeping track of your own renewal date is up to you.
  • Dissatisfaction with the wording, difficulty or accuracy of AI-generated questions. Output is probabilistic and varies by source document; the free plan exists so you can judge quality before paying.
  • A feature not existing, or not working the way you assumed, where it is not described on our pricing page.
  • Your document being unsuitable, unreadable, corrupted, encrypted or too short to generate from.
  • Buying the wrong plan, term or number of seats.
  • Part-periods after cancellation. Access runs to the end of the paid period and is never pro-rated.
  • Anyone else using your account, including where you shared your login.

3. The only exceptions

We refund only where one of the following applies, only where it can be evidenced, and only to the extent of the affected charge. A claim that cannot be supported by the transaction and account records described in section 6 is not granted:

  • Duplicate charge. You were billed twice for the same period through a fault in our billing.
  • Proved unauthorised charge. Somebody used your card without your authority, you report it within 14 days, and the records held by us and by our payment provider bear that out. A claim on its own is not enough, because anyone can make one, so it is the evidence that decides it. We work directly with our payment provider to verify these claims, and we may ask you to confirm that you have reported the theft to your card issuer.
  • Total failure of service. A confirmed fault on our side made the Service entirely unusable for a continuous period, you reported it to us at the time, and we were unable to resolve it. Partial degradation, slow generation, and problems with your own device, browser, network or file are excluded.

Where a refund is granted it is our sole and entire liability, is limited to the amount you actually paid for the affected period, and is issued to the original payment method only. Granting one refund does not create any entitlement to another.

4. How to request one

Requests must be submitted through our refund request form within 14 days of the charge. Requests sent by any other route, or after 14 days, are not considered.

The form asks only for what we need to identify the payment and assess it against section 3. We review requests in the order received. PDFQuiz is a low-cost, self-service tool, so this can take some time. Support works by email rather than live chat, we do not guarantee response times, and we do not enter into correspondence about declined requests.

Initiating a chargeback instead of using this process is a breach of our Terms and results in immediate and permanent closure of your account.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account settings, in a couple of clicks, with no need to contact us. Cancelling stops all future renewals immediately. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling is not a refund request and does not trigger one.

If a payment fails, your card issuer declines it rather than us. Our payment provider then retries the charge over the following days, which is standard for card payments and is not a second charge or a duplicate attempt to bill you. Those retries relate to a period that has already started and to an invoice that is still unpaid, so cancelling stops future renewals but does not cancel an amount already due. Once the outstanding invoice is settled or written off, no further attempts are made.

Cancelling takes effect from the moment you do it. It does not reverse a payment that has already been taken: if a renewal has already been charged, cancelling afterwards stops the next renewal but does not undo the charge for the period you are now in, and you keep access for that whole period. To avoid a renewal, cancel before the renewal date shown in your account.

6. What you agreed to, and what we keep on record

When you create your account you confirm that you accept our Terms of Use, which include this Refund Policy and our Privacy Policy in full. Before any payment is taken, the checkout states the plan, the price, the billing period and the fact that it renews automatically, and the same information is repeated in your confirmation email and in your account.

For every subscription we retain, and can produce on request: the date and time of purchase, the plan and price displayed at checkout, your acceptance of these terms, the confirmation email sent to you, every renewal notice, and a full log of activity on the account, including sign-ins, quizzes generated, files uploaded and quizzes taken, together with the technical details recorded alongside each of them. Our payment provider keeps its own record of the transaction, including the country the card was issued in, the location the payment came from, and the result of any bank authentication such as 3D Secure. We can retrieve it for any charge. These records are what we assess an unauthorised-charge claim against, and a claim has to be supportable by them. We do not set out here which signals we weigh or how, but between our own records and those of our payment provider we can establish whether a payment and the account it paid for belong to the same person.

If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first through the refund request form. Raising a chargeback without doing so is a breach of our Terms. Where a chargeback is raised, we submit the records above to your bank or card issuer, and the account is closed permanently as set out in section 4.
