What a CPA practice question generator does

Drill your own review material, not someone else's question bank

By your second pass through a review course, you start recognizing questions instead of working them. The stem looks familiar, you remember the answer letter, and the score says more about your memory of the bank than your command of consolidations or basis calculations. This tool flips the source. You upload the material you are actually studying, your own outline of ASC 842 leases, a printed lecture chapter, flashcards, or a blueprint area you keep missing, and the AI MCQ generator writes brand-new items from that text. Weak answers point straight back at the page you need to reread, and a fresh set is always one upload away.

Works with any review course notes

Upload outlines and summaries you wrote from Becker, UWorld or Ninja lectures, or photograph handwritten T-accounts and tax rate tables. If it explains a testable concept, the generator can quiz you on it.

Section-by-section drills

Studying FAR this quarter and TCP next? Upload only the chapters for the section you are sitting, then narrow further to a single content area, like governmental accounting or entity taxation, when your scores are soft.

Fresh questions every session

Generate a new set every time so you are testing recall, not recognition. Repeated retrieval on unseen items is what makes thresholds, exceptions and standard references hold up under exam pressure.

CPA exam sections and how to practice each one

Every candidate sits the three core sections plus one discipline of their choice. Each section runs 4 hours and mixes multiple choice questions with task-based simulations.

Section MCQs Simulations Upload notes on
AUD (Core) 78 7 Ethics and professional responsibilities, risk assessment, evidence gathering, forming conclusions and reporting
FAR (Core) 50 7 Financial reporting, balance sheet accounts, leases, revenue recognition, select transactions
REG (Core) 72 8 Individual and entity taxation, property transactions, business law, professional responsibilities
BAR (Discipline) 50 7 Business analysis, technical accounting and reporting, state and local government accounting
ISC (Discipline) 82 6 Data management, information systems security and privacy, SOC engagement considerations
TCP (Discipline) 68 7 Individual tax compliance and planning, entity tax compliance and planning, property dispositions

Discipline sections are only offered during the first month of each calendar quarter, while core sections test year-round, so most candidates schedule their discipline around that window. One more date worth knowing: certain H.R. 1 tax provisions became eligible for testing in REG and TCP on July 1, 2026, so make sure the notes you upload reflect current law.

Simple process

How to make CPA practice questions in 4 steps

1
Upload your material
Drop in review notes, a lecture PDF, flashcards or a blueprint area. Scanned and handwritten pages are read with OCR.
2
Set the drill
Pick the question count and difficulty. Run a 10 question warm-up over lunch or a 72 question REG-length set on the weekend.
3
AI writes questions
The AI reads your content and writes exam-style multiple choice questions with an answer key and explanations.
4
Review and repeat
Score the set, reread the pages behind every miss, then generate a fresh drill on just those topics and go again.

Who uses this to prep for the CPA exam

Candidates deep in a review course

If you have been through your question bank twice, you are drilling your memory of the bank, not the material. Turn your own outlines and lecture notes into questions you have never seen, without paying for a second review course to get fresh items.

Staff accountants studying around busy season

Public accounting leaves you short 20 minute windows, not 4 hour study blocks. Upload one chapter and generate a quick set you can finish before your next engagement call, then hit the same weak area again tomorrow with different questions.

Retakers targeting one weak area

A 68 usually means one or two content areas dragged the section down. Instead of restarting the whole course, upload just those chapters, drill until the misses stop, and walk in knowing the exact area that failed you last time is now your strongest.

CPA exam practice questions, answered

How do I make CPA exam practice questions from my notes?
Upload your CPA review notes, a lecture PDF, flashcards or an AICPA blueprint section, choose how many questions you want, and the AI writes multiple choice practice questions with an answer key in seconds. The questions come from the exact material you uploaded, so a miss points straight back at the chapter you need to restudy, and you can edit any item before exporting it to PDF or Word. If your notes are on paper, run them through an OCR tool like DocuOCR first so the text is selectable.
How many questions are on the CPA exam?
Each section is 4 hours long. AUD has 78 multiple choice questions and 7 task-based simulations, FAR has 50 and 7, and REG has 72 and 8. On the discipline side, BAR has 50 MCQs and 7 simulations, ISC has 82 and 6, and TCP has 68 and 7. Across the three core sections and your chosen discipline, that is 16 hours of testing in total.
What is the passing score for the CPA exam?
You need a 75 on a 0 to 99 scale to pass each section. That is not 75 percent correct; it is a scaled score, weighted 50 percent multiple choice and 50 percent task-based simulations in every section except ISC, where MCQs count for 60 percent. Once you pass your first section, most states give you 30 to 36 months to clear the remaining three, so pacing your practice matters as much as passing.
Did the CPA exam change in 2026?
Yes, in content but not structure. The AICPA applied blueprint refinements across all six sections effective January 1, 2026, and certain H.R. 1 tax provisions became eligible for testing in REG and TCP on July 1, 2026. The format itself is unchanged: three core sections, AUD, FAR and REG, plus one discipline section, BAR, ISC or TCP. If your review notes predate the tax changes, verify the thresholds before you drill them in.
Is this an official AICPA practice exam?
No. PDFQuiz is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the AICPA, NASBA or any review course provider. It generates multiple choice practice questions from the study material you upload so you can check recall between full review sessions. It does not reproduce task-based simulations or the exam software, so pair it with the official AICPA sample tests and your review course rather than replacing them.
Are practice questions enough to pass the CPA exam?
Multiple choice questions drive half your score in most sections, so heavy MCQ practice is essential, but it is not sufficient on its own. Task-based simulations carry the other half and demand applied work: completing schedules, adjusting journal entries, researching authoritative guidance. Use generated MCQs to lock in concepts quickly during the week, then rehearse full simulations in your review course software before you sit.
