Which Salesforce Certifications Are Being Retired in 2027? The Full List

Salesforce is retiring 24 certifications on February 1, 2027. If you want one of them, you have to register by July 24, 2026 and sit the exam by August 31, 2026. Separately, 16 other certifications are being renamed on July 24, 2026, mostly to move them under the Agentforce brand. If you already hold a retiring certification you keep it: it stays on your Trailblazer Profile and is marked as retired on February 1, 2027. If you hold a renamed one, nothing is required of you at all, because the name updates automatically.

Two different things are happening on the same date, which is where most of the confusion comes from. Here is the full picture, with the lists.

The dates that matter

The gap between registration closing and the last sitting is deliberate. Salesforce keeps registration open until late July but lets you sit a booked exam through the end of August, which gives you about five weeks of study runway after the registration deadline. If one of these credentials is on your list, the date to act on is July 24, not August 31. Miss the registration window and the extra five weeks are irrelevant.

The pattern is visible once you read the list: it is heavily weighted toward Accredited Professional credentials and toward narrow industry or product specializations. The broad platform certifications that most Salesforce professionals hold, Administrator, the consultant track, the developer track, and Business Analyst, are all untouched.

The 16 certifications being renamed on July 24, 2026

These keep existing. Only the name changes.

Salesforce is explicit that renaming does not touch the underlying exam content or the annual maintenance requirements. You do not re-earn anything, profiles and Partner Navigator scores update automatically, and your original certification dates are preserved.

What happens if I already hold a retiring certification?

You keep it. Salesforce states plainly that a retired certification is still a valid certification. It is not removed from your Trailblazer Profile, and it will be marked as retired on February 1, 2027. Salesforce also frames the retirements as a catalog decision rather than a signal that the underlying products are going away.

One thing worth being careful about: a lot of commentary asserts that employers will still be able to verify retired credentials publicly. In a previous, separate retirement, Salesforce said the status would show as retired on the profile and would not appear on the Certification Verification page. Whether the same applies to this cohort has not been spelled out, so it is safer to assume public verification may not survive retirement and to keep your own record of what you earned and when.

Is there a replacement for the certification I wanted?

Sometimes. Salesforce names a direct path forward for some of the retiring credentials and not for others.

Two wrinkles are easy to miss. First, some successors are themselves being renamed. Revenue Cloud Consultant becomes Revenue Management Consultant on July 24, and Nonprofit Cloud Consultant becomes Agentforce Nonprofit Consultant. If you are planning a move, aim at the post-July name so your plan does not read as stale a week after you make it.

Second, roughly a third of the retiring credentials have no named successor at all. Advanced Field Service, Contact Center, both MuleSoft certifications, both Order Management certifications, Process Automation, and Trade Promotion Management fall into this group. Salesforce says it is still assessing those skills and points to Partner Learning Camp and Trailhead in the meantime. If you hold one of these, there is currently nothing to migrate to, and that is worth knowing before you spend money chasing a replacement that does not exist.

What about annual maintenance for a retiring certification?

This is the one genuinely unresolved question. Salesforce's retirement FAQ says nothing about maintenance modules for the retiring cohort, which is a conspicuous silence given that the rename FAQ explicitly confirms maintenance obligations are unchanged for renamed credentials. Some commentary has concluded that maintenance simply ceases and the credential cannot be renewed in future cycles. That is a reasonable inference, but Salesforce has not published it, so treat it as an open question and check your Trailhead maintenance requirements directly rather than assuming.

What should you actually do about this?

It depends which group you are in, and for most people the answer is nothing.

• You hold a broad platform certification. Administrator, Platform Developer, Business Analyst, and the consultant track are unaffected apart from the consultant renames. No action needed.
• You hold a retiring certification. Keep it, note that it will show as retired from February 2027, and check whether a named successor exists for your specialty before planning a replacement.
• You were about to start studying for a retiring certification. Decide quickly. Registration closes July 24, 2026, and if there is no successor exam, earning it now may still be the only formal recognition of that specialty you can get.
• You are choosing a first or next certification. Favor the broad platform credentials. They are the ones that survived this cut, and they are the ones that survived previous ones.

That last point is the useful takeaway from reading both lists together. The credentials being retired are overwhelmingly narrow, product specific, and Accredited Professional tier. The credentials being renamed are product named ones getting rebranded as the products themselves get rebranded. What sat still through all of it were the broad, methodology or platform based certifications. If certification durability matters to you, that is a fairly strong signal about where to invest study time.

Preparing for whichever exam you land on
