The services that separate current material from outdated material

Google Cloud networking has been renamed and restructured enough that older study guides can be misleading without being obviously wrong. A handful of services carry disproportionate weight in the current guide, and their presence is a reliable way to check whether what you are reading is current.

Heavily featured now

Cloud NGFW anchors the security domain, including layer 7 inspection. Network Connectivity Center appears as its own objective in both implementation and hybrid connectivity. Private Service Connect runs throughout, usually abbreviated to PSC, including the Private NAT and PSC propagation objective. Secure Web Proxy and Cross-Cloud Interconnect are both named explicitly.

The staples that have not moved

VPC fundamentals, Cloud DNS, Cloud NAT, Cloud Armor, VPC Service Controls, load balancing, GKE networking, and interconnect availability design are all still core. Unlike the machine learning certification, this exam guide contains no Gemini content: the only AI touchpoint is Vertex AI as a networking destination you need to reach privately.

The practical test for any study material: search it for Network Connectivity Center and Cloud NGFW. If neither appears, the material predates the current guide and will leave gaps in two domains worth about a third of the exam.
